AI video schedulers for TikTok: what to check before you connect an account

October 18, 2026 · 5 min read

How to tell a scheduler that posts reliably from one that quietly misses days: authentication, failure handling, format, captions and the fortnight test.

Scheduling is the easy part

Every scheduler can hand a file to TikTok. What separates them is what happens on the eleventh night, when a token has quietly expired or a render came out landscape. A tool that posts nine times and then skips four days without telling you has cost you more than it saved, because the cadence the channel depends on is gone. Judge a scheduler by its failure behaviour, not its calendar view.

Check how it authenticates

Publishing to TikTok goes through the account’s own authorisation, never your password. If a tool asks you to type your TikTok login into its form, that is a red flag, not a convenience. The right flow is an authorisation screen you recognise, a connection you can revoke from inside TikTok at any time, and a status that tells you plainly when the connection has lapsed.

Ask what it does when a post fails

Three questions. Does it retry automatically, or wait for you? Does it email or notify you the same day? And does it leave a record of the failure, so you can see which film was not posted rather than guessing from an empty feed? A channel that silently goes quiet for a week is usually a scheduler problem, not a content problem.

Confirm the format it sends

TikTok wants vertical 9:16, captions you can read muted, and a caption text that is written for the platform rather than copied from a press release. Check that the video arrives already cropped rather than letterboxed, that the burned-in subtitles match the narration, and that the description carries the disclosure that the film was made with AI.

Test with a fortnight before you commit

Connect one account, schedule two posts a day for two weeks, and then read the record rather than the calendar. If both slots landed, the failures were reported and the formats were correct, the tool has earned the second account. If you spent the fortnight checking whether it worked, it is already doing less than the manual version.
